I am a live coder, educator and PhD candidate based in Canberra, Australia; on unceded Ngunnawal country. I began my candidacy in 2021, under the supervision of Ben Swift, within the School of Computing at the Australian National University. My doctoral research involves developing a notion of programming proficiency for creative computing education. Creative computing education is an authentic example of contextualised computing education. Developing a notion of proficiency involves establishing programming competencies which stem from the creative computing community of practice, while maintaining students' motivations.
My live coding practice has been heavily influenced by classical Indian rhythmic structures. As a member of the c/c/c research group, I'm also interested in designing human-agent co-creative systems and technologies which blend movement and sound.
